Games Like Cool World (1993)

Cool World is a wild ride a truly unique action game from the early 90s. You play as a teenager named Pete who gets sucked into a bizarre cartoon world. This isn't your typical cartoon though things are seriously messed up. The animation style is deliberately rough and surreal adding to the game's strange atmosphere. You'll be jumping and fighting through this world trying to rescue a girl who's been captured. The gameplay is straightforward focusing on platforming and combat with some quirky weapons and enemies. It’s a game that embraces its weirdness and doesn't take itself too seriously offering a nostalgic look at a very distinct era of gaming. If you appreciate games that are different and don't shy away from being a little odd Cool World is definitely worth checking out for a blast from the past.
