Games Like Away Times

Away Times is a really cool 2D shoot 'em up game that feels like a love letter to the 1980s. You play as a lone pilot blasting through hordes of enemies in a roguelite style. Each run is different with procedurally generated levels so you never quite know what's coming. It’s got that satisfying retro pixel art style and a pumping soundtrack that really gets you in the zone. While it’s got plenty of action, it’s also quite casual and easy to pick up. You’ll unlock new ships and abilities as you play, making each subsequent run a little more powerful. It's a great game for when you want a fun, engaging experience without a huge time commitment. The Steam achievements add a nice little challenge for completionists too.
