Games Like Shelter

Shelter is a quiet, emotional journey where you play as a mother fox trying to keep her three kits safe as they face the dangers of a harsh wilderness. You guide them through changing seasons, hunt for food, avoid predators, and make tough choices that affect their survival. The game unfolds in real time but moves at a deliberate pace that lets you truly feel every moment. You’re not just managing resources you’re watching your little ones grow, learning to climb trees, and facing their first storms. The world feels alive with subtle details like wind through the trees and the way the light shifts through the forest. It’s not about winning or beating a boss it’s about surviving together and feeling the weight of every decision. The soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful and the art style is simple but powerful. You’ll find yourself holding your breath during tense moments and quietly proud when your kits make it through another night.
