Games Like Hacknet

Hacknet puts you in the shoes of a hacker who gets pulled into a dark web mystery after a mysterious message lands in your inbox. You sit at your terminal, typing real commands in a simulated Unix environment, diving into networks, cracking passwords, and following digital breadcrumbs left by a shadowy group behind a string of high-profile cyberattacks. The game feels authentic because you’re not just clicking buttons you’re actually using real terminal commands to navigate systems, find hidden files, and piece together a story that unfolds through logs, encrypted messages, and fragmented data. It’s not flashy but it’s deeply immersive. You’re solving puzzles by thinking like a hacker, and every successful connection or data breach gives you that quiet thrill of a real breakthrough. The soundtrack is haunting and electronic, perfectly matching the tense, isolated atmosphere. It’s a game about curiosity, logic, and the quiet power of knowing too much.
