Games Like Final Fantasy VII (1997)

Final Fantasy VII pulls you into a world where the line between nature and machines blurs and the fate of the planet rests on your shoulders. You play as Cloud Strife, a former soldier who joins a rebellion against a powerful corporation that’s draining the planet’s life force. The game unfolds across vast cities, desolate wastelands, and mysterious ruins where every step feels like part of a living story. You explore on foot, ride motorcycles through neon-lit streets, and dive into the mind of a giant tree to uncover secrets. Combat happens in real time but still feels strategic as you dodge attacks and use magic and abilities to take down enemies. The music hits hard with every scene, and the characters feel real with their fears, hopes, and growth. You’re not just fighting for victory. You’re fighting for meaning, for connection, for a world that still matters.
