Games Like Deforestation Trail

Deforestation Trail is a really unique action game created for a game jam back in 2018. It's presented entirely in MS Paint which gives it a charmingly retro and almost unsettling aesthetic. You take on the role of a business owner whose sole purpose is to chop down trees. Sounds simple right? But the game cleverly twists this premise. You'll be managing your logging operation, making decisions about efficiency and expansion all while witnessing the consequences of your actions in this pixelated world. It's a darkly humorous commentary on business and environmentalism presented in a surprisingly engaging way. The game isn't about complex combat or intricate puzzles it's more about the strange satisfaction of optimizing your deforestation and the subtle narrative that unfolds as the forest disappears. It’s a short experience but one that sticks with you because of its originality and the unexpected weight it carries.
