Games Like Defender (itch) (JosephBedsole)

Defender is a really neat little game you can jump into right in your browser. It takes the classic Breakout formula and gives it a cool space twist. You control a spaceship at the bottom of the screen defending against waves of incoming alien invaders. The catch is the invaders aren't just bouncing off your ship. They also have different properties and behaviors you have to learn to counter. It's surprisingly challenging but in a satisfying way. You'll need to think strategically about where you position yourself and how you use your ship's abilities to survive. The game has a retro aesthetic that's easy on the eyes and the constant action keeps things engaging. It’s the kind of game you can pick up for a quick burst of fun or sink a bit of time into trying to beat your high score.
