Games Like Deep Fear (1998)

Deep Fear is a really interesting action game from 1998 exclusive to the SEGA Saturn. It throws you into a claustrophobic underwater research facility overrun by mutated creatures. The gameplay is all about survival. You're constantly scavenging for weapons and resources while trying to figure out what happened and how to escape. It’s a bit of a throwback to older survival horror games focusing on atmosphere and resource management over jump scares. The environments are detailed and unsettling, and the creatures are genuinely creepy. It's not a super polished game by modern standards but it offers a unique and tense experience that fans of classic action games will appreciate. You’ll spend a lot of time exploring dark corridors and battling for your life. It’s a game that prioritizes a feeling of vulnerability and desperation which is quite effective.
