Games Like Covid Defence

Covid Defence is a really clever little web game that just popped up during Ludum Dare 49. It’s a 2D action shooter with a humorous twist. You play as a tiny hero defending a hospital from waves of viruses. The gameplay is simple but addictive you shoot incoming pathogens using various weapons and abilities. What makes it so fun is the absurd and self aware humor woven throughout the experience. It’s not trying to be a serious simulation of a pandemic it's more of a lighthearted take on the situation using its mechanics to deliver jokes. The retro 2D graphics add to the charm and the game is quick to pick up and play making it perfect for a few minutes of stress relief. It's a unique and entertaining little gem that offers a fresh perspective on the action shooter genre.
