Games Like CosmicPlanetDefender

CosmicPlanetDefender is a surprisingly engaging strategy game born from the Ludum Dare 38 game jam. You take on the role of a lone defender tasked with protecting a planet from waves of incoming threats. It's a game where thoughtful planning and quick reactions are key. You'll manage resources, strategically position defenses, and deploy various units to fend off alien invaders. The gameplay loop is satisfyingly simple yet offers a decent amount of depth as you try different tactics to survive increasingly challenging encounters. It's the kind of game you can pick up and play for a quick burst of strategic fun or sink a bit more time into as you optimize your defenses. The unrated nature suggests it might lean towards a more thoughtful or perhaps even slightly challenging experience rather than something geared towards very young players. It's a neat little package that showcases clever design within the constraints of a game jam.
