Codename CORE is a really engaging 2D action roguelite that plays perfectly on web browsers. You control a core unit navigating procedurally generated levels filled with enemies and challenges. The core mechanic is deck building you collect and upgrade cards representing attacks abilities and defenses. Each run is different forcing you to adapt your strategy and build a powerful deck on the fly. It’s surprisingly addictive because every run feels fresh and the pixel art style is really charming. The game offers a good level of challenge without feeling unfair and the constant progression of your core keeps you motivated to try again and discover new card combinations. It’s a great pick for when you want something quick and fun or something you can sink a little more time into trying to beat the next level.
