Games Like Checktanks

Checktanks is a really interesting little strategy game created as part of a game jam. You control a tank and try to destroy other tanks in a simple yet surprisingly engaging way. The game uses Lua for its scripting which gives it a very flexible feel. It’s not a sprawling epic but it offers quick matches where you have to think about positioning and your tank's capabilities. The AI opponents provide a decent challenge and the game feels like a fun experiment in tank combat. It’s the kind of game you can pick up and play for a short burst or spend a little more time mastering. It's a great example of what can be achieved with focused design and clever programming. If you enjoy tactical thinking and the satisfying destruction of things, Checktanks is definitely worth checking out.
