Games Like Checkmate (Supertoady)

Checkmate Supertoady is a really clever little game that takes the classic board game chess and throws it into an action packed 2D shooter world. You control a knight navigating isometric levels battling enemies by strategically moving and attacking like you would in a traditional chess match. It's super short which is great for a quick gaming fix but packs a surprising amount of depth. The pixel art style is charming and the top down perspective gives you a good view of the battlefield. It's a unique blend of puzzle solving and fast paced combat that's easy to pick up but has enough strategic elements to keep you engaged. If you enjoy games that offer a fresh take on familiar mechanics and don't mind a concise experience Checkmate Supertoady is definitely worth checking out.
