Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead is a really unique survival roguelike set in a post-apocalyptic world. You start with nothing and have to scavenge for resources craft tools and build a base to survive. The game is incredibly detailed letting you do almost anything from crafting weapons and armor to repairing vehicles and even performing surgery. It’s not a game that holds your hand so expect a steep learning curve but the sense of accomplishment when you overcome a challenge is fantastic. The world is constantly changing and dangerous creatures roam the land so you’ll always be on your toes. It’s a game about emergent storytelling where your actions truly shape your experience and it’s incredibly rewarding to see how your character evolves over time. If you enjoy games where you have a lot of freedom and want to create your own story this is definitely one to check out.
