burnout. is a really unique platformer that grabbed a lot of attention during Ludum Dare. You play as a character trapped in a never ending loop of a decaying city. The gameplay is all about running and jumping through this visually striking world. It’s not about fighting enemies or complex puzzles. Instead it focuses on the feeling of relentless forward motion and the melancholic atmosphere. The game uses a simple but effective visual style and a haunting soundtrack to create a sense of isolation and despair. It’s a short experience but one that sticks with you because of its powerful emotional core. It’s a game that makes you think about feeling overwhelmed and the struggle to keep going. If you appreciate games that prioritize atmosphere and a strong sense of mood over traditional gameplay mechanics, burnout. is definitely worth checking out.
