Games Like Breakout (2016-12-10)

Breakout is a wonderfully simple yet surprisingly engaging game that lets you relive the classic arcade experience. You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen and a ball that you need to bounce off the paddle to destroy bricks at the top. It sounds straightforward and it is but the game offers a satisfying level of challenge as the bricks are arranged in clever patterns. There are powerups to help you out like larger paddles or multiple balls which can really turn the tide of a difficult level. It’s easy to pick up and play for a few minutes or get completely absorbed trying to beat your high score. The retro aesthetic is charming and the gameplay is just pure fun. It’s a great way to unwind and enjoy a timeless game that still holds up remarkably well.
