Beams is a really clever puzzle game for iOS where you manipulate beams of light to activate targets. It sounds simple but it’s surprisingly engaging. You’re presented with a grid and various light sources and obstacles. Your goal is to carefully position mirrors prisms and other elements to direct the light beams exactly where they need to go. The puzzles start off relatively easy introducing you to the mechanics but quickly become quite challenging requiring some real spatial reasoning. What makes Beams special is the satisfying feeling of finally figuring out a tricky puzzle and the clean minimalist aesthetic. It’s a game you can pick up and play for a few minutes or get lost in for a longer session. It’s not about fast reflexes or complex narratives it’s pure focused problem solving which is incredibly rewarding.
