Games Like Battle Command

Battle Command throws you into the thick of Cold War era strategic warfare. You're in command of Allied forces tasked with defending against a Soviet invasion. The gameplay is all about commanding units on a tactical map. You issue orders to your tanks planes and infantry moving them across the terrain to outmaneuver and defeat the enemy. It feels really satisfying to coordinate attacks and watch your forces push forward. The game has a unique blend of real time action and strategic planning. It’s not a twitch shooter but requires careful thinking about unit positioning and resource management. While the graphics are definitely a product of its time pixelated and somewhat simplistic the core gameplay loop is engaging and surprisingly deep. It's a solid experience for anyone who enjoys commanding armies and planning out their moves.
