ASTRO: The Beginning is a really charming 2D shoot 'em up that feels like a nostalgic trip without feeling dated. You play as Astro a little robot embarking on an adventure to save his friends. The gameplay is straightforward and incredibly fun focusing on blasting through waves of enemies with a variety of cool weapons. What makes it stand out is the local co-op option which is a blast to play with a friend. It’s not overly complex and the level design is well done offering a good mix of action and exploration.
