Games Like Ascension (itch) (Resolas)

Ascension is a really clever little game that takes the simple concept of Pong and twists it into something surprisingly deep and engaging. You start in a minimalist world and gradually unlock new mechanics and challenges as you ascend. It’s not just about hitting the ball; you’ll be manipulating the environment, discovering secrets, and figuring out how each new element interacts with the old ones. The pixel art is charming and the gameplay loop is incredibly addictive. It’s the kind of game where you’ll think “just one more run” and then realize hours have flown by. There’s a real sense of discovery as you unlock new abilities and the game subtly guides you without holding your hand. It’s a fantastic example of how a simple core mechanic can be expanded upon in inventive and satisfying ways.
