Games Like Animosity (itch) (Karlton)

Animosity is a really neat little strategy game that feels like a throwback to older 16 bit titles. You're building a team of creatures and positioning them on a grid to battle opponents. It’s an autochess style game which means you don't directly control your units during combat instead you focus on building a strong lineup. The pixel art is charming and the gameplay is surprisingly deep considering it was made as a game jam project. It's all about planning your moves ahead and thinking about how your units synergize. It’s not a super long game but it offers a satisfying strategic challenge and a sense of progression as you unlock new creatures. If you enjoy games where you have to think several steps ahead and like a bit of retro flavor, Animosity is definitely worth checking out.
