Anime Hunter is a really unique indie game that lets you live out your anime protagonist fantasy. You start as a fledgling hunter in a vibrant open world filled with quirky characters and bizarre creatures inspired by anime aesthetics. The core loop involves taking on missions, battling monsters using a variety of skills and stats, and generally causing a bit of chaotic fun. It’s got a sandbox feel, meaning you have a lot of freedom in how you approach things whether you want to focus on leveling up your character, exploring every nook and cranny, or just experimenting with different combat styles. There’s a definite sense of humor woven throughout the game which makes it a lot of fun to just mess around and see what happens. It’s a solid singleplayer experience with achievements and leaderboards to keep you engaged if you're into that. If you enjoy games that don’t take themselves too seriously and offer a lot of player agency, Anime Hunter is definitely worth checking out.
