Games Like Against the Current

Against the Current is a really unique experience. It's a 2D pixel art RPG played right in your web browser using HTML and p5js. You step into the role of a young woman who finds herself in a strange and sometimes unsettling world. The gameplay focuses on exploration and solving puzzles rather than intense combat. You’ll be navigating atmospheric environments, interacting with peculiar characters, and piecing together a mysterious narrative. It’s less about fast action and more about soaking in the mood and unraveling the story at your own pace. The art style is beautiful in its simplicity and the soundtrack really enhances the feeling of being in this otherworldly place. If you enjoy games that prioritize atmosphere and a compelling story over complex mechanics, Against the Current is definitely worth checking out. It's a short but memorable journey.
