Games Like 2 Shoes

2 Shoes is a quirky and clever little game that came out of Ludum Dare 45, a game jam with a tight time limit and a theme that inspired some creative twists. In this one you play with just two shoes literally the only parts of your character that stay on screen as you navigate a series of short puzzle platforming challenges. The twist is that each shoe moves independently so you have to coordinate your left and right movements carefully like learning to walk all over again. It sounds silly and it is but there is a charming kind of frustration in mastering the awkward waddle of your unseen protagonist. The game is short and sweet with a minimalist art style and just enough humor to keep you smiling through the tricky bits. It does not take itself seriously but it is smart in how it messes with your expectations of control and perspective. If you love experimental games that make you think differently about movement and physics you will get a kick out of this one.
